In the summer of 1968, 14-year-old Wolfgang is taken away from his family and sent to a secluded Church Welfare Institution known as Sanctuary. Isolated from home and facing a life he never chose, Wolfgang holds tightly to one certainty: his longing for freedom will not be buried or forgotten in the surrounding bog.
