Anamika returns to the home she left behind when her estranged mother, Sadhana, begins showing signs of dementia. The child of a mixed marriage, Ana must face a neighborhood she barely remembers, a past she has long avoided, and a mother who sometimes no longer recognizes her. With help from those around them, she confronts the wounds of childhood while trying to care for Sadhana.
