In turn-of-the-century New York, child newspaper sellers struggle through a demanding week of work under harsh conditions. When publisher Joseph Pulitzer tries to increase his profits at their expense, the young workers decide to organize a strike. As they stand up for themselves, they face the force of Pulitzer’s hard-ball tactics and the risks of challenging a powerful employer.
