During World War II, a military pilot is desperate to stop flying combat missions. Hoping to be excused from duty, he makes a determined effort to prove that he is insane and therefore unfit to continue. His plan seems straightforward, but the situation is complicated by a catch that keeps him trapped in the very missions he is trying to escape.
