As the Revolution of 1848 stirs national movements across Europe, unrest reaches Transylvania. There, Romanians rally around Avram Iancu, a 24-year-old lawyer drawn into a decisive role in the struggle of his people. As tensions rise, Iancu becomes the military leader of an armed resistance against the empire.
