This documentary examines Kratom, a botanical supplement drawn from a tree and proposed as a plant-based alternative to opioid painkillers. As opioid-related deaths continue to affect tens of thousands of Americans each year, the film looks at claims that Kratom can ease pain and help people overcome addiction while avoiding many of the side effects associated with opioids.
